Physic's Metor's Workshop

Yesterday I went to the Physics Mentor's Workshop at the Adirondack Teacher's Center in Malone. I like these workshops because I learn things and get new ideas on how to teach the same old stuff. It only reinforces by belief that I need more contact with other physics teachers. Once or twice a year isn't enough, for me anyway.

I brought up the idea about blogging between teachers at the workshop. Most agreed that it was a good idea. Someone said that we already have such a thing. I knew they were referring to the physics listserv. My problem is that the listserv floods my inbox with countless emails, most of which I don't want to read. Also, many times teachers get stuck on one hot topic and complain about it for a week.

I though t I was being unique when I came u with the idea for blogging amongst teachers. As it turns out there is a rather sizable edublogging community at edublogs. Check them out and see if there is something there you can use.

Every Day Can Be Staff Development Day

Greetings fellow math and science educators, from Bill Jaggers, science teacher, at Chateaugay High School. In case you haven't seen or heard about it, there is a website called Explore Learning at http://www.explorelearning.com/. This website interactively aids in teaching math and science concepts to students. It covers everything from Number & operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Data analysis & probability to Earth and space science, Life science, and Physical science. The kids love it. You'll love it. Visit the site, grab a 30-day trial, and check it out. If you likeit, tell your administrator.

Was this info helpful? Pass it on. Got something I should know about? Pass it on. Create a blog and share your ideas with the rest of us. It's easy. It's free. Go to www.blogspot.com and create a weblog today. I'll read it and I'll pass it on to others I think will be interested.

Thank you for all you do,
